Border Air & Water Quality Legislative Package to Combat America’s Most Polluted River

(CALEXICO, CA.) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia held a press conference today with local border officials regarding the introduction of the Border Air & Water Quality Legislative Package which would require the California Mexico Border Relations Council to better coordinate the funding and implementation of the New River Strategic Plan.

(SACRAMENTO) – After formally requesting the involvement of the CA. State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) in the restoration of the Salton Sea—the CA. State Water Board has formally announced and acted on Assemblymember Garcia’s request and slated a public hearing on the Salton Sea on March 18, 2015.

(SACRAMENTO) – State Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) has introduced AB 197, which would set a bold but achievable goal of utilizing a minimum of 50 percent renewable energy resources by 2030, which was highlighted by the Governor during his State of the State address earlier this month.
